電車の遅れ

遅（おそ）くなってごめん。電車（でんしゃ）が止（と）まっていたんだ。

Friend: Sorry I'm late. The trains had stopped.

大丈夫（だいじょうぶ）？事故（じこ）があったの。

Me: Are you OK? Was there an accident?

うん、雨（あめ）で信号（しんごう）が動（うご）かなくなったらしいよ。

Friend: Yeah — apparently the rain stopped the signals working.

そうなんだ。会議（かいぎ）には間に合（まにあ）った？

Me: I see. Did you make the meeting?

ううん、間に合（まにあ）わなかった。部長（ぶちょう）に注意（ちゅうい）されてしまった。

Friend: No, I didn't. I got told off by the manager.
