一人暮らしの相談

来年（らいねん）から一人暮（ひとりぐ）らしをしたいんだけど。

Daughter: I'd like to live on my own from next year.

家賃（やちん）はどうするの。バイト代（バイトだい）だけじゃ厳（きび）しいでしょう。

Mother: What about the rent? It'll be tough on your part-time pay alone.

うん、それは分（わ）かってる。だから、家賃（やちん）の安（やす）いところを探（さが）してるの。駅（えき）から遠（とお）くても、自転車（じてんしゃ）があれば大丈夫（だいじょうぶ）だと思（おも）う。

Daughter: I know that. That's why I'm looking somewhere cheap. Even if it's far from the station, I'll be fine with a bicycle.

食事（しょくじ）は。毎日（まいにち）コンビニというわけにはいかないわよ。

Mother: And meals? You can't live on convenience stores every day.

自炊（じすい）するよ。今（いま）も週末（しゅうまつ）は作（つく）ってるし。

Daughter: I'll cook. I already cook at weekends.

気持（きも）ちは分（わ）かるけど、うちから通（かよ）えないわけじゃないでしょう。

Mother: I see how you feel, but it isn't as if you can't commute from here.

通（かよ）えるけど、往復（おうふく）で三（さん）時間（じかん）かかるの。それだけの時間（じかん）があれば、もっといろいろできると思（おも）う。

Daughter: I can, but it's three hours there and back. With that time I think I could do a lot more.

……そこまで考（かんが）えているなら、お父（とう）さんと相談（そうだん）してみましょう。

Mother: ...If you've thought it through that far, let's talk to your father.
