常（つね）に取り壊（とりこわ）される危険（きけん）にさらされているのは、それほど重要（じゅうよう）かどうか決定（けってい）しがたい場合（ばあい）である。つまり、実際（じっさい）、芸術的（げいじゅつてき）価値（かち）や歴史的価値（れきしてきかち）はないかもしれないが、心情的（しんじょうてき）に人々（ひとびと）が愛着（あいちゃく）を持（も）ち、愛（あい）するようになった堂々（どうどう）とした昔（むかし）の建物（たてもの）の場合（ばあい）である。

It is the borderline cases that are always in danger: the dignified buildings of the past which may possess no real artistic or historic value, but which people have become sentimentally attached to and have grown to love.
