干し草

日（ひ）の照（て）るうちに干し草（ほしくさ）を作（つく）れ。

Make hay while the sun shines.

干（かん）草（くさ）に火（ひ）がついたらそれこそ大変（たいへん）だ。

If the hay caught fire, it would be a real disaster.

それは干し草の山（ほしくさのやま）の中（なか）から針（はり）を探し出（さがしだ）そうとするようなものだ。

牛（うし）に乾草（かんそう）をやって、昼（ひる）の仕事（しごと）はおわりです。
