共稼ぎ

今（いま）では多（おお）くの家庭（かてい）が共稼（ともかせ）ぎで、夫（おっと）と妻（つま）の両方（りょうほう）が働（はたら）いている。

Many families now have two breadwinners with both husbands and wives working.

あの夫婦（ふうふ）は共（とも）かせぎしている。だが亭主（ていしゅ）の給料（きゅうりょう）のほうが女房（にょうぼう）の給料（きゅうりょう）よりも低（ひく）い。亭主（ていしゅ）が女房（にょうぼう）の尻（しり）にしかれるのも当然（とうぜん）だ。

He and his wife both work and his salary is lower than hers, so no wonder he is a hen-pecked husband.
