彼（かれ）は車（くるま）を売（う）ったので、電車（でんしゃ）で通勤（つうきん）している。

He has sold his car, so he goes to the office by train.

Say that work is 8 hours, it feels like the three hour commute time is also work but you don't get any money for it. What a waste.
