文化的

私（わたし）達（たち）が言語（げんご）は文化的（ぶんかてき）に伝（つた）えられる、つまり、学習（がくしゅう）されるものであって受け継（うけつ）がれるものではないと言（い）う場合（ばあい）、言語（げんご）は、文化人類学（ぶんかじんるいがく）者（もの）が文化（ぶんか）と呼（よ）ぶ、学習（がくしゅう）され共用（きょうよう）される行動（こうどう）の複合体（ふくごうたい）の一部（いちぶ）であるという事（こと）なのである。

When we say that a language is culturally transmitted - that is, that it is learned rather than inherited - we mean that it is part of that whole complex of learned and shared behavior that anthropologists call culture.

芸術（げいじゅつ）を理解（りかい）するのに文化的背景（ぶんかてきはいけい）は必要（ひつよう）ではない。

No cultural background is necessary to understand art.
