夜中

町（まち）の灯（ひ）りはとても明（あか）るくとてもちかくなっていて通（どお）りの灯（ひ）かりは夜中（よなか）輝（かがや）いています。

Now the lights of the city were bright and very close, and the streetlights shone all night.

その晩（ばん）と次（つぎ）の日（ひ）とその夜中（よなか）ずっと地下室（ちかしつ）で過（す）ごしたのよ。

We spent all of that night, the next day, and the next night in the cellar.
