願い事

願（ねが）いごとを言（い）ってロウソクを吹（ふ）いて消（け）しなさい。

Make a wish and blow out the candles.

そして記念碑（きねんひ）の基底（きてい）部分（ぶぶん）には願い事（ねがいごと）が刻（きざ）まれている。

「僕（ぼく）は、僕（ぼく）の願い事（ねがいごと）について考（かんが）えていたのだ」小（ちい）さい黒（くろ）いウサギがいいました。

"I'm just thinking about my wish," replied the little black rabbit.

「僕（ぼく）の今（いま）の願い事（ねがいごと）は君（きみ）といつも、いつまでもずっといっしょにいることなのだ」小（ちい）さい黒（くろ）いウサギがいいました。

"I just wish that I could be with you forever and always," replied the little black rabbit.

「なぜあなたの願い事（ねがいごと）は小（ちい）さくて高（たか）いの？」と小（ちい）さい白（しろ）いウサギが聞（き）きました。

"Why don't you wish a little harder?" asked the little white rabbit.

「あなたの願い事（ねがいごと）はなに？」と小（ちい）さい白（しろ）いウサギが聞（き）きました。

"What is your wish?" asked the little white rabbit.
