日本（にほん）の封建時代（ほうけんじだい）には、最大（さいだい）の土地（とち）を所有（しょゆう）した領主（りょうしゅ）は「大名（だいみょう）」と呼（よ）ばれた。

In feudal Japan, the lord with the largest land holdings was called a "daimyo."
