其れに

まだちょっとホームシック気味（きみ）だし、それに、慣（な）れないことばっかりで。

I'm still feeling a little homesick and so many things seem strange to me.

And, we get each other's company to boot.

しかし、彼（かれ）が残（のこ）した手紙（てがみ）やノート、それに、人々（ひとびと）の彼（かれ）についての話（はなし）のおかげで、彼（かれ）の性格（せいかく）について多（おお）くのことを知（し）っている。

But we do know many things about his character, thanks to letters and notebooks he left behind and other people's stories about him.
