Just (recently) finished 〜たばかり

Meaning

"Just finished doing ~ / only recently did ~". Indicates an action was completed a short time ago. Broader time window than 〜たところ.

Formation

[verb ta-form] + ばかり

Notes

Different from 〜たところ (which means "just this moment"): 〜たばかり can cover minutes, hours, or even weeks ago, as long as it still FEELS recent. E.g. 昨日、日本に来たばかりです ("I just arrived in Japan yesterday").

私（わたし）は去年（きょねん）大学（だいがく）を卒業（そつぎょう）したばかりです。

I just graduated from university last year.
