Grammar
N5 question

Question marker か

Meaning

Turns a statement into a yes/no question. Place か at the end of the sentence.

Formation

Notes

In casual speech か is often dropped (rising intonation is enough). Do NOT use か after a polite noun+です in casual speech — that sounds rough/masculine. For wh-questions, use a question word + か (e.g. だれか = someone).
