Grammar
N5
particle
〜なあ / な

A casual sentence-ending particle expressing emotion — admiration, longing, musing, or self-directed remark. Softer/more emotional than ね.
Formation
[sentence] + なあ / な

Mostly used in casual speech (often by men, but not exclusively). なあ is a longer, more emotional version of な. Polite equivalent: ね (seeking agreement). Example nuance: 「いい天気だなあ」 "What nice weather."
