Te-form 〜て (conjugation)

Meaning

The te-form is the Swiss-army knife of verb grammar: it links sequential actions, makes requests (〜てください), and is the base for 〜ている, 〜てもいい, etc.

Formation

Notes

Group 1 has 4 sub-rules by ending: う・つ・る → って; ぬ・ぶ・む → んで; く → いて ( exceptions: 行く→行って); ぐ → いで; す → して. These rules MUST be memorized.
