Demonstrative modifiers この・その・あの・どの

Meaning

Demonstratives that MUST be followed by a noun. この本 "this book"; その人 "that person"; あの店 "that shop over there"; どのクラス "which class?"

Formation

この/その/あの/どの + [noun]

Notes

Contrast with これ/それ/あれ which stand alone. Pick the right distance: この = speaker's area, その = listener's area, あの = far from both.
