Sample dialogue
来週（らいしゅう）の金曜（きんよう）、みんなで飲（の）みに行（い）くんだけど、どう？
We are all going out for a drink next Friday — how about it?
いいね。三年（さんねん）ぶりに会（あ）う人（ひと）もいるの？
Sounds good. Will some of them be people I have not seen in three years?
うん。二次会（にじかい）はカラオケとかボウリングとか考（かんが）えてる。
Yes. For the after-party I am thinking karaoke, bowling, that sort of thing.
それが、金曜（きんよう）は出張（しゅっちょう）が入（はい）っているものだから、参加（さんか）できそうにないんだ。
The thing is, I have a business trip that Friday, so it looks like I cannot come.
そっか、残念（ざんねん）。都合（つごう）がついたら連絡（れんらく）して。
I see, that is a shame. Let me know if you end up free.
うん。幹事（かんじ）に伝（つた）えておいてくれる？
I will. Could you let the organiser know for me?
