N5 connective

After doing (and then) 〜てから

Meaning

"After doing ~ (and only then ~)". Emphasizes that action B happens AFTER action A is completed. Stronger sequencing than 〜て、 alone.

Formation

Notes

The focus is on the ORDER: A must happen before B. Contrast with 〜た後で (which just states "after"). 〜てから cannot be used for past-tense events in the same way.
